What’s up H-Town,
Just when you thought we couldn’t get more rain. That being said, all we can remember from last summer were 100+ degree days.
Depending on which weather phenomenon we’re trying to beat back this weekend, here are some highlights from this weekend’s bayou city music lineup:
Flwr Chyld - this Atlanta-based R&B artist is tearing it up at the House of Blues Saturday at 7:00pm.
The Howdies - Georgia must be on Houston’s mind this week, as this Athens, Georgia based country band, evocative of outlaw country (Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings) plays the Big Top Sunday at 8:00pm.
Jessie Daniel - if you can’t make it to The Howdies but still want your country fix, fun and storied artist Jessie Daniel will be playing Last Concert Cafe this Friday at 9:00pm.
Swimwear Department - for an experience like no other, head over to the Heights Theater 8:00pm on Saturday. This funky band only plays songs oriented around swimming pools or shopping malls (seriously). The opener did a Tiny Desk Concert using sock puppets.
El Caribefunk - nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2020, this Cartagena, Colombia based band will bring a carefree Afro-Caribbean rhythm to Dan Electro’s Sunday at 3:00pm.
