🕺🏻'70s Rock + Sir-Mix-A-Lot

Happy 4th! Given the holiday, Houston’s live music lineup is a bit light this week. But what it lacks in quantity it more than makes up for in quality.

1. Shake Russell - with a voice that recalls Cat Stevens, his songs have been performed by Waylon Jennings and Ricky Skaggs. He’ll be at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck this Saturday. 

2. Cinema Stereo - a ‘70s and ‘80s inspired rock band formed during the pandemic, this exciting and original band will be playing Dan Electro’s Friday at 9:00pm.

3. Splice Records 10 Year Anniversary - R&B and indie lovers will be in for a fun night Saturday at Dan Electro’s with Tomar & The FCs, Vodi, Ancient Cat Society and Dollie Barnes. Some impressive local talent in this lineup. 

4. Sir-Mix-A-Lot - after a long holiday weekend it's always difficult to get back in the swing of things. Sir-Mix-A-Lot will be giving you inspiration to “Jump On It” at the House of Blues this Sunday. We’ll see ourselves out...

5. Dome Dwellers - 1810 Ojeman will have a fun indie-infused/math rock lineup this Sunday at 7:00pm featuring Dome Dwellers, Medians, Howard & The Nosebleeds and Team Alice.
